acids but only in temperature band (-20°C to +65°C).
Very tough with high impact strength at room temperatures.
Easily machined and fabricated. Edges can be scraped
smooth but not highly polished.
Strengths
- Cheap, good acid and alkali resistance
- Stiff and strong
- Good vapour barrier properties
- Good UV resistance
Limits
- Limited solvent stress cracking resistance
- Becomes brittle at 5°C (40°F) unless impact
modified
- Low continuous service at temperature of 50°C
(120°F)
